Bring Your Vehicle to John Ellis & Son for Its Annual AC Check

Summer is here and you will be running your car’s air conditioner quite a bit. We get pretty hot here in Sacramento, and John Ellis & Son can make sure that your AC is ready to take on the summer heat. Call the best auto service shop in Sacramento to schedule an appointment for an air conditioning system check. We will do the following and more to make sure you can rely on your vehicle’s air conditioner.

Compressor

One of the first things we will do is inspect the compressor and test it to make certain that it is running and operating as it should be. The compressor can go bad when it isn’t run for several months. Naturally, you weren’t running the car’s AC in the winter. We will make sure the compressor can compress the system refrigerant and circulate it through the system.

Condenser

We will also make sure that the condenser is ready for its summer job. This job is cooling off the refrigerant once it gets too hot. The condenser draws air in from the outside through inlets. It also uses a fan to cool off the refrigerant. Because the condenser sits behind the grille, it can be easily damaged by road debris. We will inspect the condenser to make sure this hasn’t happened.

Condenser Fan

We will also inspect the condenser fan to ensure it, too, has not been damaged. Aside from this, we will test the condenser fan to ensure it is working as it should be. The condenser needs this fan to help it keep the refrigerant cool. If the condenser and the fan are unable to cool off the refrigerant, you will end up with warm or hot air blowing through the vents.

Electrical System

The AC’s electrical system also needs to be checked to make sure there aren’t any problems that can render the air conditioner useless or start an electrical fire. We will replace any system fuses that have blown, check the wiring for fraying or other signs of damage, inspect and test the relays, and make sure all of the switches are working properly.

Refrigerant

Finally, you need refrigerant for cold air, so we will check the level of refrigerant in your car’s air conditioning system. If the level is too low, we will add the proper refrigerant to the system.

Again, call John Ellis & Son in Sacramento, CA, today to set up an AC service for your automobile before the mercury rises too high.
